Job Title: Technical Sales Manager

Location: North West England coverage

Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per annum + profit-related bonus, car or car allowance

This organisation is a well-established, profitable timber-frame manufacturer and installer, delivering predominantly supply-and-install solutions to regional developers, contractors and housing associations. The role has been created to strengthen and future-proof the commercial function, and supporting planned growth ahead of an anticipated market uplift. This position will suit an experienced timber-frame sales professional with strong regional relationships, technical understanding and the credibility to operate autonomously while integrating into a close‑knit senior team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of profitable timber‑frame projects across the North West
  • Generate new business with regional developers, contractors and housing associations
  • Manage client relationships from early engagement through pricing, negotiation and order
  • Prepare or contribute to accurate quotations and estimates with a strong margin focus
  • Prioritise repeatable, volume housing schemes deliverable within a calendar year
  • Work collaboratively with internal technical and operational teams to secure deliverable work
  • Represent the business professionally within the regional timber‑frame market


Experience Required:

  • Proven sales experience within the timber frame sector
  • Established contacts with regional developers, contractors or housing providers
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to price work profitably
  • Technical appreciation of timber frame systems and construction processes
  • Track record of delivering significant annual sales value within a regional market
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
  • UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally


Desirable:

  • Experience combining sales and estimating or technical input
  • Background in affordable housing or volume residential schemes
  • Exposure to both straightforward housing and higher‑end architectural timber projects
  • Understanding of supply‑and‑install contracting models

Additional Information:

  • Target contribution of approximately £3m in profitable annual sales
  • Business turnover circa £6m with growth ambitions
  • Project values typically up to £1m with repeat house types
  • Approximately 90% timber‑frame supply and install, with limited associated timber products
  • Company car available if required, or alternative allowance arrangements
  • Role positioned as a senior hire, with progression following successful delivery
