Manufacturing Manager

£70,000 per annum plus benefits
Fully onsite Monday to Friday
We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Manager to assume full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility. The role encompasses all aspects of production and aims to drive operational efficiency while consistently maintaining the highest quality standards. You will be looking to enhance operational performance, maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, and lead your team to deliver consistent, high-quality output.
As Manufacturing Manager you will:
- Manage and oversee daily manufacturing operations
- Implement and control manufacturing schedule/programme: review and adjust the schedule where needed to meet project delivery dates
- Lead and supervise the production team, ensuring clear communication, training and performance
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and company safety protocols
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised factory environment always
- Oversee all factory staff scheduling, working hours, overtime and time off requests
- Identify and resolve any resource issues before they arise ensuring that labour is re-deployed across manufacturing to achieve a high level of labour efficiency.
- Coach and mentor as required to build teams capabilities
- Manage and maintain ISO standards and ensure compliance with company accreditations
- Own manufacturing capacity and scheduling assessing where pinch points may occur and develop methods to improve capacity
- Identify training needs
- Work closely with other divisions to ensure alignment
- Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement
- Ensure management of overall facility, including building services, utilities, and site maintenance
Do you have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, Production Manager (or similar) in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost within your area
- Experience of managing and leading a team
- Experience of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques or willingness to engage in development in this area
- Knowledge of panelised systems
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Ability to produce and manage production programmes
- Excellent IT skills, specifically with MS Office (Excel, Planner, Word) with good understanding of CAD
- FLT B1 and B3 Licence
- Good general knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
