Job Title: Quantity SurveyorLocation: Coventry, West MidlandsSalary: £50,000£55,000 per annum + Car or Car Allowance
This role is with a specialist contractor delivering offsite and panelised construction solutions across a range of projects. Working closely with operational and project teams, the Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in managing commercial activities from procurement through to final account. The position would suit a commercially focused individual with experience in a subcontracting environment who is looking to broaden their experience within a growing sector of the construction industry that prioritises efficiency, quality and innovation.
As a Quantity Surveyor you will:
- Procure and manage subcontract packages in accordance with project procurement strategies
- Negotiate commercial agreements and administer subcontractor accounts
- Manage applications for payment and ensure compliance with contractual payment terms
- Drive effective cash flow management across assigned projects
- Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks, implementing mitigation measures where required
- Monitor project progress against programme objectives, including subcontractor performance
- Prepare, submit and agree valuations, variations and final accounts
- Maintain accurate cost reporting, budgeting and forecasting to support profitability
Experience Required:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role within the construction sector
- Experience working for a subcontractor or within a subcontracting environment
- Sound understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures
- Experience managing project budgets, valuations and financial reporting
- Knowledge of subcontract procurement, payment applications and account administration
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities whilst maintaining commercial control
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Desirable:
- Previous exposure to offsite construction, MMC or panelised building systems
- Experience supporting projects through design, manufacture and installation phases
- Interest in developing a career within a specialist area of the construction industry
