Once again, our Directors Deb and Jim Roach threw open their doors (and garden) for the annual summer BBQ, continuing the tradition of thanking the team and their partners by feeding them and encouraging questionable competition in the name of fun. As ever, it took a fair bit of prep and tidying up — but it’s always worth it.

This year’s ARVFest brought sunshine, great food, booze you didn’t need to smuggle in, glitter and tattoo station and some stag and hen-style horse racing, in honour of Callaum and Char, who are heading down the aisle this September.

Annie clinched victory for the Hens in the hotly contested horse racing final and walked away with a prestigious prize: a plant. (Not your average trophy!).

MD, Jim Roach feels a bit gutted as after much food prepping, including 2 day cooked brisket, home made bbq and rocco sauce, cajun thighs and all the accompaniments for top level loaded fries – there’s not one photo of the food. Too busy eating it. Everyone loved the candy floss maker and we did manage to capture this.

We were also joined by Graham Brown and wife Jackie, now 7 months into his retirement – after 12 years at ARV Solutions. He came to remind us all what freedom looks like and pretend he’s not missing work at all. ……

No team photo this year (too busy having fun eating and drinking too much), but it was another great afternoon that proves you don’t need a formal agenda to build strong teams — just food, fresh air and a bit of nonsense.
Saffron was entertained through0ut the day and managed to stay up well past her bedtime. Until it all got too much.
