Business Development Manager – Engineered Timber Products

The Opportunity
Join a market-leading UK structural timber manufacturer backed by a major global building materials group. This autonomous, field-based role offers a flexible split between home and client visits, focusing on expanding partnerships with regional house-builders and builders’ merchants across the South West.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Sales: Win new business and grow existing accounts with regional house builders, developers, and builders’ merchants.
  • Maximize Margins: Achieve profitable volume sales against targets with a sharp focus on commercial margins.
  • Deliver Service: Collaborate with internal design and operations teams to guarantee high-quality customer delivery.
  • Track Markets: Monitor South West construction pipelines and competitor activity to capture new opportunities.
What We Are Looking For
  • Sales Track Record: Proven B2B construction sales experience, ideally selling structural timber, joinery, or heavy building materials.
  • Audience Expertise: Established experience dealing directly with regional developers, housebuilders, or merchants.
  • Commercial Drive: Strong negotiation skills, a relationship-first approach, and a solid understanding of profit and margins.
  • Mobility: Full UK driving licence is essential for regional travel and occasional overnight stays.
