Helping Hollyhedge: Skipping Secret Santa for a Pawsitively Good Cause!

The Christmas season often brings with it the frenzy of Secret Santa gift exchanges, but this year, the team at ARV Solutions decided to take a different route. Inspired by a colleague’s connection with Hollyhedge Animal Rescue Centre, we swapped traditional gifts for a more meaningful initiative: No frills, just a practical way to give back.

Finding Inspiration in Furry Friends

Our colleague Annie Parker shared the heartwarming story of finding Figgy, her feline friend, at Hollyhedge Animal Rescue Centre. This sparked a collective decision to direct our efforts toward this worthy cause. Deb and Jim were also keen to donate to an animal charity, as Mo, their much-loved black lab, died suddenly in June this year and has been greatly missed by all his ARV friends.

A Practical Approach to Giving

Instead of the usual Secret Santa, we utilised our annual volunteering time to shop for essentials for the animals at Hollyhedge: Treats, toys, and food filled our trollies, ensuring that these furry companions get a little extra love during the festive season. It’s a win-win—less hassle than Secret Santa, and we get to make a difference in our local community.

Our contribution might not make headlines, but for the cats and dogs at HollyHedge Animal Sanctuary, it means a little extra comfort and joy this Christmas.
