After an incredible journey that began in 2012, we are both excited and emotional to announce Graham Brown’s approaching retirement this December.
Graham has been an integral part of our team, starting in March 2012 in our small offices in Westbury-on-Trym, joining Sue and Jim to create a team of just 3! Over the years, he’s played a pivotal role in establishing the strong, enduring relationships that define our company today. Whether in the office or out at client meetings, at a trade show or an ARV Social, Graham has always been a cornerstone of our culture—working hard, playing hard, and making a difference.
Since April, Graham has been gradually reducing his hours, taking time to adjust to his new life. He’ll continue to work closely with his clients and candidates, through to the end of 2024. We will ensure we maintain the high standards we’ve always delivered. His dedication to making this a smooth transition is another testament to his commitment and professionalism.
For those who know Graham, you’re well aware of the impact he’s had. A huge influence not only on our team but also on the wider recruitment industry. His dedication and warmth have left an indelible mark, and his presence will be sorely missed.
We’re confident, that as he hands over the reins to Craig Nicholls and Nathan Garland, sales and marketing recruitment is in very capable hands. However, there’s one more tradition that will require careful management. The all-important Works National Lottery, which Graham has been running for many years.
We’ll be sad to see him go of course. Though we’re thrilled for Graham as he embarks on this exciting new chapter of his life. Please join us in wishing him all the best for his retirement!
Graham Brown
Graham’s reflections and thoughts of the future are summed up by him:
“I have real mixed emotions to announce I will be retiring at Christmas after 12 years with ARV Solutions.
My journey began in 2012 when I joined the business to launch a new division dedicated to Sales & Marketing recruitment. I brought the experience gained over 27 years of recruiting sales professionals. Though initially, I knew very little about the Offsite Construction sector.
Very quickly, I realised I was fascinated by all things MMC. I took every opportunity the company made available to me to attend industry events, conferences and to tour client’s factories. I gained so much first hand knowledge of the various Offsite Construction solutions.
I’ve worked with many great clients and candidates alike, many that I feel close to and regard as friends. Successes have ranged from finding Apprentices to Sales Directors and Managing Directors for businesses across the UK.
All the above supported by a business built on strong ethics, work practices and managed by Directors with real caring family values.
The team that I have been part of for so long is the best that I have ever had the pleasure to have worked with. I will be very sorry and no doubt emotional to say goodbye at Christmas.
Naturally I will always be an Ambassador of the business and will be there to help when called upon.
I’m feeling ready now, at 68, to hang up my laptop and mobile after nearly 40 years in sales recruitment.
Looking forward to spending more time with my wife Jackie and supporting my stepdaughter who handles two Agility Dogs as part of Team GB and Team Wales who run at international competitions around the country and mainland Europe.
Hobby wise, I will continue to shoot both shotgun (clays) and rifle (punching holes in paper) as well as my love of fine wines and good food.
Finally a massive thank you to clients who have supported me on numerous repeat occasions over the years”
