Director, Deb Roach, is keen to find new adventures and our latest event was a pottery workshop, where we celebrated our Associate Director Rob Elford’s 40th birthday and, as always, linked our event to the Five Ways to Wellbeing.
Creative Chaos with Potheads at the Pub
We kicked things off with a pottery workshop at Potheads Home | Pot Heads Pottery (peacefulpots.co.uk), held in a local pub—because where else could you mix clay and creativity? Let’s just say, not all of us are destined to be the next great ceramic artist. But hey, that’s part of the fun!
- Connect: We bonded over shared laughs as some of us discovered we have two left hands when it comes to pottery.
- Be Active: Pottery might not be a workout, but it sure got us moving—and covered in clay. Thankfully, our walk along the Bristol harbourside in the gorgeous sunshine to the restaurant helped tick this box. Thank goodness it wasn’t raining!
- Take Notice: We needed to focus on Tasha’s very clear instructions and there were times when there was a slight hush as we focused on the job in hand.
- Keep Learning: For many, it was a first attempt at pottery, proving that lifelong learning can sometimes mean a few laughs along the way.
- Give: We supported a local business and gave each other the gift of laughter with our “unique” creations.
Some pots were masterpieces, others… well, let’s just say they had “character.” Regardless of the outcome, it was a blast getting creative together.
Celebrating Rob Elford’s 40th Birthday
After our pottery escapades, we celebrated Rob Elford’s 40th birthday with at a local burger restaurant. Rob, who’s been a cornerstone of ARV Solutions, deserved a grand celebration – and he is a big fan of a burger!
Reflecting on the Day
The day was a perfect mix of creativity, connection, and celebration. It reminded us of why we value well-being and team bonding at ARV Solutions. Celebrating milestones and engaging in fun, sometimes messy activities enriches our work culture and personal connections.
