Timber Engineering
We’re partnering with an innovative and growing timber engineering specialist working across beautifully crafted, complex timber structures, from bespoke architectural features to full engineered timber builds. They are now looking for a skilled Design Technician with hands-on timber experience to support their expanding project portfolio.
As a Design Technician, you will:
- Develop detailed timber structural and connection designs in collaboration with Project Managers and the Design Director
- Produce accurate 3D models of timber structures, connections, and interface details
- Prepare 2D drawings across all project stages — including arrangement, detail, fabrication, and installation drawings
- Generate fabrication information, including CADCAM files, working closely with manufacturing partners
- Prepare schedules, drawing lists, drawing issue sets, and supporting specification documents
- Check and quality-control internal and third-party design and fabrication information
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal design standards, templates, and guides
What we’re looking for:
- 3+ years’ experience in specialist timber design
- Strong understanding of timber fabrication processes and the international timber industry
- Knowledge of contemporary timber construction detailing and buildability
- Familiarity with design quality management and document control procedures
- Required software experience: Cadwork
- Preferred additional experience: Rhino/Grasshopper, Revit
