Sustainability – our journey to net zero

At ARV Solutions, we are committed to continuously improving our environmental performance and reducing our carbon footprint. Over the past few years, we have taken practical, measurable steps to improve energy efficiency. We are reducing emissions and lower operating costs across our business.

In 2025, we worked with  Seedling  Easy to Use Carbon Footprint Software | Seedling team using their Carbon Accounting software. The aim was to gain a clear understanding of the impact of the improvements. Furthermore, we wanted to know how we can continue to measure and set actions and targets. This would help us make further improvements to reduce our carbon impact.

Seedling supported us in understanding our journey to net zero, and the scope of our emissions better:

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions from our operations, such as company vehicles and on-site fuel use.

  • Scope 2: Indirect emissions from the electricity, heating, and cooling we purchase.

  • Scope 3: All other indirect emissions across our value chain, including suppliers, business travel, and product lifecycle.

  • We are delighted to have eliminated Scope 1 emissions through many improvements including eliminating gas from our building.

Key Actions taken:

  • Removed gas heating from our building
    We eliminated all gas-based heating and replaced it with a high-efficiency air heating and cooling system. This reduced our direct use of fossil fuels and improving overall energy efficiency.

  • Installed on-site solar panels
    Solar generation helps lower our reliance on grid electricity and reduces emissions associated with purchased energy.

  • Upgraded all lighting to energy-efficient LED  All fluorescent lighting has been replaced with LED alternatives. We have reduced electricity consumption and improved lighting efficiency across our premises.

  • Committed to flexible and hybrid working
    Flexible working arrangements help reduce commuting-related emissions while supporting lower-carbon ways of working.

  • Encouraged car sharing and use of electric vehicles for trade events and meetings
    Where travel is necessary, we promote car sharing and the use of EVs to minimise emissions per journey.

  • Installed EV charging points for employees at our offices
    Providing EV charging supports low-carbon commuting and encourages sustainable transport options for our team.

  • Used video technology to reduce travel
    Video conferencing is used for initial interviews and many meetings, reducing the need for unnecessary travel while maintaining effective collaboration.

  • Implemented full office recycling, including food waste
    Our comprehensive recycling programme ensures that materials and food waste are diverted from landfill and managed responsibly.

Next Steps

ARV Solutions has made a commitment to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 90%, by the year 2050, and to then offset our remaining footprint, making us absolute Net Zero in these categories.

This target underscores ARV Solution’s proactive leadership in tackling the most controllable sources of carbon emissions, setting a high standard within its sector and reinforcing its dedication to environmental responsibility.

Understanding that the majority of our emissions often lie within Scope 3, ARV Solutions is also taking significant steps to address Scope 3 emissions. These emissions are inherently more complex to manage. In response, the company has adopted a Scope 3 emissions intensity target, measured on a per-employee basis. This approach allows ARV Solutions to monitor and reduce emissions relative to organisational growth, encouraging smarter operational practices even as the workforce expands.
