ARV Solutions staff biographies
Jim established ARV Solutions in 2003 with a plan to provide high levels of service more often seen in high end ‘Search and Selection’ rather than contingency recruitment, though still at sensible fee levels, in line with realistic expectations of clients – i.e. to ADD REAL VALUE!
I previously held a senior management role within a national construction recruitment agency, taking the South West and Wales region from small beginnings to building a top-performing team – quite a few of whom went on to run their own agency, or hold senior posts in other recruitment businesses. From there I went to managing a multi-disciplinary recruitment business that taught me far broader recruitment sectors, including manufacturing and engineering. Having taken them through ‘Investors in People‘ and developed the team further, I realised my destiny lay in running a business of my own, where I could implement a new philosophy I felt was overdue in recruitment.

Paul joined the team in 2011 bringing unparalleled experience in the recruitment sector supporting the growth and development of ARV Solutions.
Paul works with ARV Solutions to provide strategic direction, coaching and mentoring and to help enhance our business culture and further attract and retain clients, candidates and most importantly colleagues. He has spent thirty-five years within the recruitment industry, and is the former Managing Director of Office Angels the UK’s leading office support recruitment consultancy, as well as the main Board Director of Adecco UK & Ireland, and Chief Talent Officer/Chief Operating Officer of Hudson UK, Ireland and Middle East, a global professional recruitment services business.
A well known and high profile figure within the UK recruitment industry, Paul commenced his career at Office Angels as a Branch Manager rapidly moving into Area Manager and Regional Operations Director positions. He became Managing Director in 2001, and grew the network to over one hundred branches whilst managing a workforce of six hundred and fifty staff achieving a turnover of £140m.
Paul directed Office Angels to win ‘The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Company to Work For in the UK’ award, achieving eighth position in 2005 and 2006, and was also awarded ‘Best Company in the UK for Outstanding Workplaces’ 2006 – 3 stars.
Rob joined ARV Solutions in the autumn of 2015 and now leads our staff across the business as an Associate Director.
Not to be considered a traditional recruiter; my approach to a candidate centric strategy sits well with ARV Solutions’ own culture of a quality and service led approach to recruitment. I have a real passion for the construction industry and keep a keen eye on the latest niche projects both in the UK and overseas.
In my spare time I enjoy trying to convince my daughters I am as funny as I think I am, the eldest is only three at the time of writing so it still works. Otherwise I will be out riding a mountain bike as much as possible.

Craig joined ARV Solutions in 2018, bringing with him thirteen years of experience within recruitment.
In 2005, I was a founding member of an Executive Search company in Bristol, specialising in the engineering design of major infrastructure projects. In addition, I have recruited for Engineering, Finance, M+A, Mining, Environmental businesses in North and South America, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, typically recruiting salary ranges from £40k to £150k.
I made a direct approach to Jim Roach at ARV Solutions as Jim’s reputation, culture and leadership style appealed to me. His knowledge in the Offsite Construction sector is second to none, and he has built a credible business, one that I wanted to join and be part of.
As is the ARV Solutions ethos my approach to recruitment is to be consultative, to help and not to hinder, treat others as I want to be treated and to never be judgmental.
In my spare time I can be found in the garden talking to my two cats, one hundred chickens and ducks, and selling eggs to the village I live in. Occasionally you will find me doing overtime in the office, or rocking out at heavy metal concerts and festivals.

Sue has been with ARV Solutions since 2008, bringing a wealth of HR and recruitment experience. Sue is highly experienced in recruiting for widespread technical roles and has in-depth knowledge of the needs of the offsite construction sector.
I spent five years working with government-funded training for unemployed professionals and Modern Apprenticeships before moving to a large Engineering consultancy where I became involved in recruitment and training for their technical and support staff. I enrolled on the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development Post-Graduate Diploma course in Human Resources Management. I gained a real taste for recruitment over this period and felt I could offer a different perspective to the recruitment industry, as I knew what I wanted from Recruitment Consultants as an employer. I joined a large organisation working with Highways and Structural Engineers but after two years realised that whilst I enjoyed recruitment, I wasn’t cut out for the sales-led culture of a traditional recruitment consultancy.
Lucky for me, Jim was looking for someone who didn’t fit the traditional Recruitment Consultant profile and I’ve been here since June 2008! I have found it hugely rewarding to get the chance to build strong and long-lasting relationships. Outside work, I am interested in vintage clothing and classic cars and motorbikes. I am also a football fan, and follow the fortunes/misfortunes of West Ham United.

Graham has spent over thirty-seven years within the recruitment industry specialising in the placement of people in Sales & Marketing positions. Since joining ARV Solutions in 2012 he has enjoyed specialising even further within the offsite, modular, timber frame, timber engineering and modern methods of construction marketplace where he can build on the relationships that have been successfully cultivated over many years.
It is very refreshing to be working with a close-knit team who genuinely place their clients and applicants first and are passionate about their profession rather than the typical ‘over the top’ attitude of many recruiters. ARV Solutions share my values of developing long term relationships with candidates and clients through trust, and I am always absolutely delighted when I am approached repeatedly by people to provide them with continuing support and assistance.
Our membership of the Structural Timber Association, and the MPBA has allowed me to meet and learn from some of top people within the Offsite Sector as I attend regular meetings and events throughout each year.
I enjoy both rifle and clay pigeon shooting together with fine wine and good food.

After spending seven years in retail management Callum joined ARV Solutions in March 2019 ready to dive into a new career.
I wanted to join an industry where I could utilise all my skills and experience gained over the last seven years and recruitment seemed like the best industry for me to do that. I joined ARV Solutions as a trainee resourcer and have been promoted several times since, with my current job title being Senior Account Manager. Whilst I have been here, I have been lucky enough to complete my NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Recruitment Practice
After being with ARV Solutions for the past four years it is clear to me that I chose one of the best businesses in the recruitment industry to work for. It is very refreshing to work with a close-knit team who genuinely place their clients and candidates needs first and value the service we provide.
Offsite construction is one of the most interesting & growing industries out there and ARV Solutions is at the centre of its growth. No two days are the same whilst working with some of the most knowledgeable and talented people in the industry.
In my spare time I like to go on as many mini breaks as possible across Europe, enjoying nice food and drinks with friends as well as watching my local football team (although not always enjoyable).

Lucy joined us in 2017 taking on the role of Office Manager bringing with her six years of Office Management experience.
I began my career working in Pensions spending eight years in customer services before I moved onto Office Management. I am very family orientated and the family atmosphere at ARV Solutions held massive appeal for me. I love planning and organisation so this is the perfect role for me, especially working within an organisation that shares my values and dedication to great personal service.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my nieces and nephews, researching new places to travel to, and I love making time to cook new recipes and visit restaurants.

Deb joined ARV Solutions in January 2022 to run all operational areas. Previously, Deb worked for twenty years in independent financial services starting as an Apprentice and worked her way to Head of Operations. At the age of forty, she decided to re-train and spent fifteen years working in the education and charity sectors.
As wife of ARV Solutions founder, Deb has been involved with the company since its inception in 2003 and previously worked for the organisation in a variety of roles. She has now returned to the company to co-ordinate Operations and promote continuous improvement across many areas of the business.
Having worked in the education and charity sectors for fifteen years, I joined ARV Solutions in January 2022 with the main goal of driving our ambitious three year strategy plan forward. Our vision for the future is based on high-reaching, continuous improvement goals across all areas of the business: ensuring we remain market leaders by offering our clients and candidates outstanding service; keeping our team central to all decisions with a focus on improving wellbeing and continuing to be an employer of choice in the recruitment sector. I am also passionate improving the impact our business has on the environment and am making changes to facilities in our offices and our working practices to achieve these goals. It’s an exciting role that offers much variety and an opportunity to work with a fantastic team.
Throughout my previous experience I have become a wellbeing champion and have worked hard in the public sector to develop improvements for both colleagues and families I have supported. I would like to continue to promote this within ARV and broaden the impact this can have on the wider community.
When not working, I love to travel both in this country and further afield. Walking with friends and dogs is a great passion of mine – especially if there is a great view and a pub involved. As a season ticket holder with Bristol Bears Rugby Team, I am often found at Ashton Gate on a Friday night suffering/enjoying a match!

Tommy joined us as a Trainee having been recommended to apply by a local business entrepreneur, and veteran recruiter. With a couple of years commercial experience under his belt, and sales skills picked up whilst working during his international travels, Tommy was looking to develop his career in recruitment with ARV Solutions.
After leaving school I travelled and worked in Australia. After coming back to the UK I wanted a new challenge and luckily enough, a close family friend put me in touch with ARV Solutions. He couldn’t speak more highly of Jim and ARV Solutions themselves which got me really excited to have a chat with Jim and learn more.
I had never worked in recruitment but had experience in fleet management and a sales role whilst in Australia. This experience encouraged me to apply these similar skills in a role back at home here in the UK.
After talking to Jim, meeting the team in the office, and learning of ARV Solutions values and recruitment style, the company really stood out to me as they are very different to traditional recruitment. ARV Solutions build long lasting relationships and having a high percentage of repeat business is a core factor here. The office atmosphere and family like culture enables me to further develop, not only professionally but personally as well.
The offsite construction industry is continuing to blow my mind every single day with how niche and innovative the industry is. I am continuously learning which makes working that much more enjoyable when you love learning about the industry you recruit within. I am excited to get going with ARV Solutions and look forward to the future.
In my spare time I love going to the gym and playing a range of sports such as Rugby and Football. I also enjoy winding down after a busy working week by socialising with friends on the weekend.

Jody joined the ARV team back in March 2022 bringing over a wealth of recruitment knowledge.
I had just finished covering a mat leave after also finishing maternity leave of my own, and when the opportunity to get back into recruitment and join ARV Solutions came up I jumped at the chance! I have been working in various recruitment/support roles since I finished university in 2006, covering a wide range of sectors. I enjoy learning all about offsite construction and MMC with ARV Solutions. The office has a great culture and the team are super friendly.
I have two young children, so as with many mothers with children at nursery I work part time. I’m looking forward to picking up more time at ARV Solutions over the next couple of years as they start school.
Other than two children to keep me busy, I like watching the Bristol Flyers Basketball team play, and hopefully I will have some spare time one day to start painting and being a bit more creative again!

After working in retail for over a year and achieving her Business Management Degree, Annie decided to start a career in recruitment and was attracted to ARV Solutions because of our company culture.
The passion for this career move arose from a fascination with all areas of business, an interest in helping others achieve their goals, and watching my uncle have a lot of success and fun during his time in recruitment. ARV Solutions has the perfect culture to grow me into the recruiter I want to be, with a team-working environment it is great to see there is support and knowledge all around, and I am excited to have my journey with them.
In my spare time, I love to bake and try my best to make realistic cakes, I also love to renovate my house – probably too much as I am always painting.

Liam Joined us in 2023, as maternity cover for our office manager Lucy. He comes from a background of over 8 years of working in finance.
I began my career working in practice as an accounts assistant, back in 2015. I then graduated from University of West of England in 2019, where I studied accounting and finance with business management, which provided me the foundations I needed for the role I am working in today. I moved onto working at a recruitment firm in Bristol, where I gained valuable experience, which has helped me settle into my role at ARV.
I am very much a people person, I enjoy creating strong relationships with my colleagues, and at ARV Solutions they are very passionate about team cohesion, which fits in perfectly with my values.
Outside of work I am very active, I work as a personal trainer part time, and tend to opt to put myself through self-inflicted pain by running marathons (both in this country and in Europe), boxing and all things fitness related, I have only got myself to blame…
I started my career in recruitment not so long ago, 2021. I started as a Resourcer in the Offsite/Modular Team (of another agency!) and quickly moved up to Head of Offsite and Modular in 2023. Before this, I worked for the one the largest privately owned Engineering/Construction/Manufacturing business in the world, so I very much have lived and worked experience. Also, the daughter of a Civil Engineer. This all lends to me working in the industry and it is absolutely my passion.
In 2024, I found myself wanting a change and after a LinkedIn post, Jim made contact with me and a few days later I found myself in the Bristol office. I was very aware of Jim and the ARV Solutions Team as in my previous role they had been my biggest competitor. I very quickly concluded ‘if you can’t beat them, join them,’ so I did.
It is great working with a team of people that are wholeheartedly passionate and committed to the industry that we recruit in. Jim and the team have built a fantastic reputation in the industry, and I am so proud to be part of the team.
ARV Solution’s approach to recruitment is very much my approach, to be consultative, client driven, to help and not to hinder. Adding Real Value!
What makes me tick outside of work? Well 100% that is my son. Being a single mum it is so important to me that I support him in his interests, rugby and Air Cadets. I am a super proud mum! When I do have free time, you can find me out riding, walking our dog, watching rugby or with family and friends.
Amy.lammie@arvsolutions.co.uk 0117 959 2008
Saffron, the fox-red Labrador puppy, has only recently joined the business, and only on a part time basis – largely not working from home either!
Whilst she doesn’t stet the strategy for our social media, she is certainly the star whenever she appears, and gets more likes than any of the business stuff!
This – a rare picture of her settled!
After leaving school, I began my career in a sales role with an insurance broker then I stepped into the world of account management with Lifetime training. While there, I supported the operations team by guiding strategic policy on government levy spend for apprenticeships for new and existing staff.
Building on this success, I decided to take a leap of faith into recruitment. I transitioned to Reed Engineering, where I ran a highly successful engineering desk. My main focus was on Maintenance, Health and Safety, and Quality roles within manufacturing.
This led to a Learning and Development position, where I supported recruiters from associate level to senior level and junior management. My philosophy is that recruitment is about quality service, relationship building, and consulting both candidates and clients was a guiding principle.
With a renewed passion for recruitment and a desire to align with a company that shares my values, I decided to join ARV Solutions as my recruitment and account management experience would be put to good use. I`m excited to be part of a team that adopts a consultative approach, with a goal to build long lasting relationships with both candidates and clients. I’m excited to be part of the established Sales and Marketing team and am looking forward to building on their success and developing lasting relationships with new and existing clients.
In my spare time you will usually find me with my wife and family having fun adventures out with our 5 year old twins Alfie and Elsie. When I`m not at Lego land with the children you will usually find me watching Football, F1 or boxing. Big fan of holidays, I enjoy the sun and cocktails and being dragged into the pool by Alfie and Elsie.
Graham was a great source of information and advice through out the process keeping me fully informed at all times. He was never pushy and provided a great sounding board through the process. I would recommend both Graham and ARV without question.
