This business was undergoing significant change and development reacting to the changing market and needed to make its timber manufacturing plants more efficient and cost-effective. They had been trying to bring in lean manufacturing methods for over a year without great success.
The brief was to source an experienced manufacturing professional with extensive man-management skills, as well as strong Lean Manufacturing experience to move straight into a major change environment and bring about successful change, bringing the team with him wherever possible. After working with numerous agencies on previous roles, we were awarded this assignment on an exclusive basis, with an enhanced fee recognising our unique position to source someone, and the client’s commitment to ensuring a successful outcome.
The vacancy was instructed mid-November, resourcing, and advertising commenced within 24 hours with initial interviews carried out in late November and early December.
The emphasis of the role changed (more senior-level required) so we re-advertised and searched throughout December resulting in a shortlist of candidates being sent to the client for interview selection.
Further interviews were arranged for the first two weeks of January, resulting in an accepted offer and start on 1st February.
From brief to offer the duration was 10 weeks.
