Wellbeing at ARV Solutions – making it personal!

At ARV Solutions, we believe that investing in our people is the key to building a happier, healthier, and more productive workplace. But what works for one person – does not necessarily work for all.

That’s why we continue to offer our annual Wellbeing Allowance of £500 to every team member, with just one simple requirement: link the spend to the Five Ways to Wellbeing. This flexible approach acknowledges that wellbeing means different things to different people, and the variety of choices our team has made shows just how unique and personal wellbeing truly is.

The Five Ways to Wellbeing

The Five Ways to Wellbeing—Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning, and Give—serve as a framework for improving mental and physical health. Whether it’s strengthening relationships, staying physically active, engaging with the world around us, learning something new, or contributing to others, these principles can support everyone in leading a more balanced and fulfilling life.

This flexible approach acknowledges that wellbeing means different things to different people, and the variety of choices our team has made shows just how unique and personal wellbeing truly is.

Wellbeing in Action Here are how a few of the  team embraced wellbeing in ways as unique as they are:

  • Tommy hit the slopes for a skiing holiday, ticking off “Be Active,” “Connect,” and “Take Notice.”

  • Annie mastered chocolate-making (“Keep Learning”) and helped her parents move (“Give”) by paying for the cost of hiring a van (and giving up her time to help) .  Annie told us “I love making chocolates, I’ve been doing it for around 6 years now, using the wellbeing fund helped me improve my tools and learn the new skills, it helps me de-stress and focus – with the bonus of chocolate after!”

  • Callum upgraded his home office for comfort and productivity, with a new chair then recharged with a winter sun trip with fiancé, Char.

  • Sue continued Tai Chi and started hydrotherapy, prioritising her physical and mental health to help improve symptoms of Axial Spondyloarthritis.  Sue commented Having the wellbeing fund to access gives me the push I need, as movement is vital to manage the condition (and who’s going to turn down the chance to have your wellbeing activities paid for?). Tai chi is put on locally and is held at the beautiful medieval barn at Winterbourne (https://www.winterbournebarn.org.uk/) – during the winter months it’s vital to layer up but in summer it’s a delight!  It’s good to be around other people who are looking for gentle exercise too. The hydrotherapy is organised by the Bristol branch of National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society (https://nass.co.uk/) and is run by a Physiotherapist who understands the condition; this means we focus on exercises that help manage our symptoms. These two activities aren’t prohibitively expensive but the ARV Solutions wellbeing fund makes it easy to get involved – thanks!”

  • Rob invested in new bike parts, fuelling his passion for cycling and the great outdoors.
  • Jody spent quality time with family and friends at Crealy Adventure Park and Bristol Old Vic as well as a much needed break in the sun.  She said “It’s always helpful to have extra funds to go towards family trips”

More Than a Perk—A Commitment This allowance is a reflection of our Platinum-accredited Investors in People culture. By supporting our team’s wellbeing, we create a happier, healthier, and more engaged workplace.

How would you spend your £500 Wellbeing Allowance?

So far in 2025, we’ve helped out with costs for Physio sessions and I know one of the team has a Spa weekend planned!  We can’t wait to see what our team does in 2025
